Flowery
There has been months of radio silence due to having a wedding to plan. This weekend as the festivities came to an end our flowers didn't and we enjoyed a cottage full of them.
Thanks to my mum for taking the time to sort them and to the Nunhead florist W. Daffin who did such a good job we can still enjoy their beauty a week on
This was how they looked on the day
The day after!
And how we've enjoyed seeing them up to eight days later

Jube in bloom
Garden blooms to help brighten a very rainy jubilee bank holiday
Here is the pink rose close up. So perfect it looks like a plastic one!
We had my folks round for lunch and they brought us some more blooms and this lovely old copper jug I'd spotted at theirs. So guess that's ours now...
Nature making the most of some bright spells we did have to gather food.. at one point there were around 6 birds trying to get onto our bird feeder

(A lot of) Rain & (a little) shine
This weekend we spent hours on gardening. (A hobbie with hidden benefits - an hour of it burns around 300 calories according to myfitness pal )
When we moved into the cottage we had a beautiful garden and we vowed we would keep it that way. Well, it only took us nearly a year to get round to it.
Here is the view from our sun room
Hopefully once (and if) the rain stops we can make up for lost time
On the wish list - lots of terracotta pots
This beautiful pot holder
A nice vintage watering can
A hanging basket full of pansies is helping what was the very messy situation of the front garden to look a little tidier
Along with these Hydrangeas
We've tried to keep mostly to a red, white and blue colour scheme. Tis the Jubilee afterall..
We bought this wooden box from a shop in East Dulwich without paying for it. The owner told us to bring him a tenner next week so thanks for that Bob.
And we've an old champagne box we've planted broad beans in - hopefully it'll look something like this.
Some blueberries, strawberries, oregano and basil in the sun room...
Perhaps most importantly we've planted a Sauvignon grape vine, big hopes for that one

Sleepy Time
We bought our bed from this lovely company The Sleep Room a while back. They are changing their name to Loaf and a catalogue of lots of their beautiful stuff came through our door this weekend. That + the rain = A v. long wishlist!
Love this Emma chair - very cottagy
And this 'Bonjour' day bed
And this bedside table - Campaign
Got their styling down to a tee with the white washed floor boards

In other news the mirror collage has begun and is looking good but still needs some work

Out of sight, out of mind
Lovely as it is the cottage is small and storage is tricky and like everyone we have got a lot of junk so I've started thinking about novel ways of storing it all.
Putting said junk in a nice vintage box, suitcase or cabinet seems a fairly good way to deal with it.
These rustic wooden boxes are from notonthehighstreet.com, £65
These have a similar effect and are much cheaper at £35 plus I'm sure you could find something similar in a skip! Also from notonthehightstreet.com
Inherited this box from my sis this week, it'll do for shoes or as a table..
Vintage suitcases are becoming massively popular and sought after as featured on the recent episode of The Apprentice!
These are nice from NOTHS.com
I bought these similar ones from Ebay recently and they are housing a lot of wedmin related documents at the moment.
Couple of bathroom cupboards I have to store my many cosmetics although storage here is a work in progress!
The white one below was found by my ma, probably on a skip to be honest though I didn't ask for details..
This blue worn one was from a Graham & Green warehouse sale for around £100. If you sign up to get their newsletter they'll let you know when the next one is. Normally there's a couple a year and there are some beautiful finds to be had there
Out of sight, out of mind.. and still managing to look half way decent

Mirror Mirror
Have a couple of lovely vintage style mirrors at home, looking for a few more to do a bit of a mirror collage like the ones below
Here is my collection (singularly) so far..
Challenges now 1). To get over my fear of drilling holes in my walls 2). To find a wall big enough in our dinky cottage to hold more than one mirror!
